Every day is a boot day when you live the western lifestyle—but on National Boot Day, we take a
moment to honor the folks who wear their Durangos with pride,
passion, and purpose. People like Kyle Schindler and Kirsten Danner from Arlington, Ohio—meet
the collectors behind the boots.
KYLE SCHINDLER: 14 PAIRS AND COUNTING
Kyle owns 14 pairs of Durango® Boots, and he wears them every single day. From job sites to
nights out, Durango are the boots he counts on.
“First and foremost, I love the comfort. I've never worn anything more comfortable than a pair
of Durango boots. Second is durability. They last forever. And
third is the price point. So they check all three boxes. I think this is my sixth PRCA Collection boot. I wore the
Rebel Pro’s today. These are hands down my absolute favorite pair
of boots.
Kyle works at one of the largest quarries in Ohio, and he puts his Maverick Pro™ work boots to the test on tough terrain—logging
10,000 to 15,000 steps daily.
But his love for boots doesn’t stop at function—it’s part of his lifestyle. At home, Kyle and
Kirsten have crafted a one-of-a-kind boot display in their log cabin bedroom
using horseshoes and wooden beams. Their boots hang proudly above the bed, like western works of
art.
“We had so many pairs of boots, and we started to collect them. I just got the idea of like, why
not display them where people can see them? It's a part of your
room and it's something that's very unique. You don't see it anywhere else.”
KIRSTEN DANNER: 40 PAIRS AND COUNTING
Kirsten picked up her first pair of Durango Lady Rebel™ boots 14 years ago—and now her
collection has grown to 40 pairs.
“When I put them on, it was like they were already broken in. You didn't have to break the boot
in at all.”
As an office manager, boots are part of her daily uniform on and off the clock.
“I wear boots 24/7. They're like my tennis shoes. We normally just keep our boots on all day. We
don’t have to take them off.”
With a Western-themed home and blown-up photos of their horses over the fireplace, boots are
part of Kirsten’s décor too. Friends and family don’t just
visit—they tour the collection.
“When people come over, they always ask to see our boot collection.”
